About ARES
ARES is a program of ARRL The National Association for Amateur Radio®, offering to the public and to its partners trained, federally licensed operators who are skilled in applying a wide range of effective emergency/disaster communications techniques and who are committed to supporting our partners’ missions in service to the public.
The Salt Lake County unit of ARES has formal partnerships with Salt Lake County Emergency Management and the hospitals of Intermountain Health. If you’re ready to use Amateur Radio in a meaningful role in emergency communications in Salt Lake County, and willing to commit to the training required to do it effectively, we have a place for you.
